The Artist
Shaheen Alasmar is a Syrian-Lebanese breakthrough artist in the local and international music scene. Based in Halifax, but born and raised in Kuwait, he’s better known as artist Shanii22, a cluster of combatting big personalities with a diverse take on music.
His multicultural upbringing is truly a hallmark of his music: through his art, Shanii22 aims to combine different hip-hop cultures from across the globe and shed light on the cultural and individual forms of diversity. He is heavily influenced by Golden Era musicians such as The Roots and Jay-Z, as well as New School Legends such as Kanye West, Young Thug, and XXXTentacion. Shanii22 has released 13 singles until today, with an added 7 features.
