A new update to Logic Pro X (Version 10.5)
Apple has just released its biggest update to the full spectrum Mac DAW since the last update which bought users the power of Alchemy. Version 10.5 has now arrived which has given the ESX24 a much required facelift while still being backward compatible and having the same functionalities. In addition to this the new Sampler and Quick Sampler also have functionality to directly record audio into the plugin and also has options to splice up different audio loops automatically, which is a game changer for Logic.
The update also adds in a pair of tools which have been available for quite a while in Garageband but were not introduced to Logic till now. Live Loops have now been added to Logic which allows users to arrange loops in a grid and arrange them however they want to create unique sounds and arrangements to songs you have already made and a new step sequencer also builds on functionality Ultrabeat used to give users on the older Logic Pro X. There is also a video embedded at the bottom of this page which takes you through all the new changes and updates to Logic in depth!
Logic has also give users a plugin called the Drum synth which I personally find super cool, since its super frustrating finding specific sounds, and now this plugin gives me the ability to manipulate specific one shots or sounds to create my own unique sound. Version 10.5 also includes updates to the companion app, Logic remote, which allows users to use live loops which were originally meant for touch controls like on an Ipad.
Lastly, another super cool plugin included in this new update is one called Remix FM, which we think is one of the best additions to logic. With this plugin you can now use a set of different buttons and sliders to control real-time effects. This plugin can be used in unison with Live Loops and helps you easily scratch mix a project and also give you various DJ- oriented effects like being able to reverse the audio of a loop live, stopping and downsampling a song and a ton of other effect which are used all the time in live electronic and Dance Music.
This new update really has us excited us and so far we have yet to see any of our producers complain about any of the updates!
