Resources for Producers Vol 1.
Finding the right source for samples, presets or just general tips can be tricky sometimes in the world of producers and music composers. Often times information like this does not get passed around because some people like retaining their sources to themselves.
I find the Internet to be an infinitely large space where can all collaborate and use the same resources to make different and unique music. This is what will drive innovation in the industry and the sharing of resources should be encouraged more in today’s day and age. We here at Started in the Nine have compiled a short list of different sources for samples and presets and even reliable and active tutorial channels on YouTube.
Samples and Presets
These guys are one of the biggest in the game and over the years have developed a solid marketplace solely for samples and presets, and it is fairly easy to see their site does well and rakes in quite a bit in sales. Now this isn’t just because they have great marketing strategy, but because they give people actual quality. Their content is miles better in quality and samples are also royalty free as opposed to the majority of sources. You can find their Site here.
I recently also stumbled across another platform which is a great resource for samples and presets as well. They actually also have a whole selection of serum presets and one shots which are free of cost, which is a rare find! You can tell these guys put in some solid effort and I just had to give it a share. They focus on House and EDM and the website is easy to navigate. You can find them here
Tutorials
If you’re a Logic Pro user then you’re in luck. This guy is an all time legend. He is super followed for his remakes for popular Songs and showing you how to create the same sounds from Stock Plugins (most of the time). His tenacity for detail and in depth knowledge about the DAW (logic pro x) make him a top candidate for producers looking to expand their knowledge base. He is one of the most active YouTubers I have seen focus specifically on Logic Pro X and 10.5. He also doesn’t hold back knowledge from his viewers which has given him the success he sees today. Arguably one of the largest and well monetized tutorial channels in the Producer world. This channel is in the must subscribe category for any producer.
Ocean was one of the first channels I really started following when I first got into production and composing music. He stands out because he really has a knack for making things seem more simple than they are. Learning basic plugins like Ultrabeat and Logic pro’s Sampler is easiest when tuning into Oceans channel. He is a master at creating unique drums and keeping up with his uploads is only going to help fine tune your own game. Like the above channel Ocean does not withhold knowledge and also releases his own sample packs to his audience. Subscribe to him today, you won’t regret it!
This is just the first of many Volumes on different resources producers and composers can follow to improve what they already do. Stay tuned for Future updates!
