3 Samplers VST’s we would recommend for all producers
Finding the right sampler can be hard, and sometimes those stock plugins just dont do the trick. This list of sampler vst’s are for when logic cant help you and you need to dig into something new to give your tracks a fresh look especially when you want to go beyond manipulating samples you drag and dropped into your track layout.
This right here is built on a huge piece of music history. This is a literally digital re-incarnation of the Fairlight CMI V which is the original piece of hardware created to give rise to the movement of sampling. Even the term sampling was coined to describe the features the Fairlight CMI provided to musicians. At one point in time this piece was selling at price tags of up-to 60,000 pounds stirling, and was even seen used by artists like Prince.
Arturia took the Fairlight CMI and bought it back to life in a digital version but they did also add some cool features you didn’t have on the original machine. They have added additive synthesis and tons of modulation options. Arturia’s CMI lets you work with 10 different instruments at once and it also comes with 300 expertly designed presets, built to save you time. All in all this plugin is a must for someone looking to spend on a sampler/vst which has a proven track record.
Native Instruments Kontact 6
Kontact 6 by Native Instruments is probably the biggest sampler/ vst in the game right now. It has one of the biggest selections of sampled instruments available and it also allows you to drag and drop your own samples into the plugin interface. it also boasts close to 600 instruments from third party manufacturers which really broaden the scope of what you can do within the plugin itself. This plugin is already used by film composers and you can even hear some of the sounds in Kontact being used in blockbuster films. See if you can identify any after downloading the plugin!
